Met Éireann expect temperatures set to SOAR again18th Jul 18 | News
Until then we'll just have to make do!
Good news - we're in for an absolute scorcher this weekend as the mercury soars into the high 20's again, meaning the heatwave is coming back!
Temperatures will take a significant drop of 8C to 11C tonight which makes a big difference from the milder evenings we have been enjoying in recent weeks. But it won't last long at all as high pressure is set to return this weekend and continue into next week.
WEEKEND: Saturday and Sunday will both be mostly dry and fine days again, as high pressure becomes reasserted. Variable cloud and very warm sunshine. Daytime temperatures will get well into the twenties - and up to the high twenties on Sunday. Winds light with sea breezes near coasts.
FURTHER OUTLOOK: Signs are for the warm and essentially dry weather to prevail into next week too.
However, the recent stretch of dry hot weather provides a timely reminder of just how valuable Ireland’s water is. Although we experienced our first bit of rainfall in recent weeks over the last few days, weather experts have revealed they are worried about Irish weather patterns as there is still no sign of any major rainfall on the way.
