Rumours circulated online that the actor had died
Coronation Street actor Malcolm Hebden, who plays Norris Cole, was the victim of a vicious hoax yesterday when rumours circulated online that he had died.
The actor was taken into hospital earlier in the week with a mystery illness but he is said to be recovering and his co-stars have confirmed the cruel rumours that he had passed away are indeed false.
Sally Ann Matthews who plays Jenny in the soap dispelled the rumours on Twitter last night.

The story circulated on Facebook last night on a fake news site from Florida with many people expressing their condolences under the post.
Thankfull Malcolm has not died and we can look forward to seeing him as Norris in the soap for the forseeable future.
Malcolm first appeared on the soap back in 1974 as Mavis Riley’s Spanish boyfriend Carlos but returned to the street in 1994 as Norris Cole.
Corrie continues on TV3 at 7.30pm and 8.30pm tonight or you can catch up on last night’s episodes on 3Player now.
