Pepsi boss: 'Britney's not on our wish list for Super Bowl show'13th Jul 17 | Entertainment News
Pepsi boss Justin Toman has shot down reports suggesting Britney Spears is a favourite to headline next year's (18) Super Bowl halftime show.
The Toxic singer was linked to the big gig earlier this week (beg10Jul17), but Toman insists the story is just wild speculation.
"That rumour happens at this time every year," the Pepsi sports marketing director said at the Venues Now Conference in Los Angeles on Wednesday (12Jul17).
"I can tell you it's not Britney," he responded to a question about the 2018 headliner.
Offering clues about how he and his colleagues select acts for the Pepsi Halftime Show, Toman added, according to Billboard: "It's one of those cases where you look at the small set of the people that could pull that kind of a show off.
"Sets up in seven minutes, it's a 12-minute show, and they have to break it all down again in seven minutes. In those 12 minutes of the show, someone has to deliver power, punch, performance, singing, lights... who has the reach, the social following, the album sales, who's trending?"
This year's (17) headliner was Lady Gaga.
