Billy Corgan buys National Wrestling Alliance - report
2nd May 17 | Entertainment NewsRocker Billy Corgan has reportedly agreed to purchase the National Wrestling Alliance.
The Smashing Pumpkins frontman reportedly now owns the name, rights, and trademarks to the NWA, according to PWInsider.com.
Corgan has yet to comment on the reports, but the 50-year-old has been involved in the industry for several years. In 2016, he was named president of Tennessee-based wrestling company Total Nonstop Action's (TNA) parent firm IMPACT Ventures, but he fell out with executives, including chairwoman Dixie Carter, after loaning them $1.8 million (£1.4 million) to keep the company afloat, and launched legal action against them in October (16).
However, the case was settled in November (16).
Corgan also previously helped to establish Resistance Pro Wrestling, the private sporting venture he co-founded in 2011. He parted ways with the firm in 2014.
