Cher and Dolly Parton have paid tribute to their former manager Sandy Gallin who passed away on Friday (21Apr17).
Sandy, who passed away aged 76 in Los Angeles after a battle with multiple myeloma, managed popstars including Cher, Dolly, Barbra Streisand, Michael Jackson, Neil Diamond and Mariah Carey during a career spanning more than five decades.
He also acted as a television producer and helped turn The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour, which starred Cher and her then-husband Sonny Bono, into a huge TV hit.
"My Friend & Co-Producer Of S&C (Sonny & Cher) Show,Is Gone (sic)," Cher wrote on Twitter. "HE Was Crazy,Wacky, Genius.HE ALWAYS LAUGHED SO HARD AT HIS OWN JOKES My Youth Is Taking a Hit. (sic)"
Dolly, who Sandy helped find mainstream fame as well as country music stardom, also released a statement, choosing to share her words via her website.
"Sandy, you may be in heaven now, but you will never be gone from me," Dolly's statement read. "In the words of my own song, I will always love you."
In addition to top musicians, the show business Svengali represented a number of Hollywood stars during his career too, including Whoopi Goldberg, Renee Zellweger, Lily Tomlin, Martin Lawrence and Nicole Kidman.
Sandy also produced Joss Whedon's hit TV shows Buffy the Vampire Slayer and its spin-off Angel.
His passing, which came after he was hospitalised earlier this month, was announced on Instagram by his close friend Bruce Bozzi.
