In case you need an excuse for a strong mid-week drink.
Because Halloween falls on a Tuesday, you’ve probably already donned your cat ears/witch hat/Donald Trump mask over the weekend. So how exactly do you celebrate Halloween itself? We reckon a cocktail will do the trick (or treat).
The folks at Stables Bar at the Milestone Hotel, London, have designed a suitably scary drink to mark the occasion – the Formaldehyde Martini. To make it at home, you’ll need vodka, absinthe, sugar syrup and macerated berries (soak them in your favourite booze and sprinkle on some sugar) because it wouldn’t be a Halloween drink without something that looks a bit like blood. And if you’re really committed, you can even make a garnish that looks like a finger.
