Thai Beef salad

San' Tamil Arasan from 'My Thai' joins us now to serve up a fantastic beef Thai salad.

Ingredients

  • 6 oz Steak ( Prime Sirloin)

  • 1 Table spoon Lime or Lemon Juice

  • 1 Table Spoon Oyster Sauce

  • 2 Table spoon Brown Sugar

  • Pinch of Black Pepper

  • 1 Table spoon Fish Sauce

  • ½ Iceberg Lettuce cut in Julienne

  • 80gms Beans Sprout

  • 50gms Mint Leaves

  • 50gms Coriander Leaves

  • 1 whole tomatoe , cut into dices or cube

  • Dressing: 1 Table spoon Fish Sauce

  • 2 Table spoon Lime or lemon Juice

  • Thai Birds Eye chillies (chopped)

  • 1 Table Spoon Plum sugar or Brown Sugar

  • 2 Table spoon Thai sticky rice

Method

  1. Mix the marinades in a bowl, stir till it dissolves.

  2. Marinate the steak and set for 20-25 minutes in fridge

  3. For salad dressing combine all ingredients in a bowl and stir till the sugar dissolves.

  4. Grill the steak over a hot nonstick pan and cook for 5-7 minutes for medium well and 7-12minutes for well done

  5. Toss the sticky rice on hot pan till brown, set it aside

  6. Mix salad item (1g with the dressing made earlier and put on the serving plate)

  7. Slice the now cooked steak as thinly as you can on and place on top of the salad on the serving plate

  8. Finish with sprinkling the toasted sticky rice on the salad and serve immediately.
