"Am I being unreasonable to put some money aside each week?"

A Mum has sparked outrage online after asking a forum if it was unreasonable to start saving for her baby to have a nose job in the future.

The woman, who was not named, took to Mumsnet with her dilemma - claiming that her daughter had inherited a "very large nose" from her Father and thought she might grow up to hate it.

She explained:

"Husband has a very large nose. I like it and I think it makes him look handsome. He really doesn't like it. Daughter looks like she is going to take after her father in the nose department.

Am I being unreasonable to put some money aside each week incase she wants a nose job when she is older?

If her nose isn't like her dad's or it doesn't bother her she could use it for other things.

I'm just concerned she will be self conscious as other people make remarks to DH and he had been teased about it in the past."

Readers were quick to comment on the forum, one person snapped:

"You're totally bonkers and, worse, run the risk of seriously damaging your child's self esteem if you think this way."

Another wrote:

"For the love of god, don't talk about her nose EVER to her. You'll give the poor child a complex. Save for your child's future of course. But ffs don't call it a nose-job fund."

A third poked fun at her:

"Don't forget to start saving for implants for her 18th."
