Gardai have issued an appeal for witnesses to come forward after a young woman claimed she was attacked by three men and raped by one of them while walking home from a night out in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The Irish woman, who is in her 20s, was walking on the Millicent Road in Clane, Co Kildare between 1am and 1.30am on Tuesday morning when the alleged incident is said to have occurred.
The Aldi supermarket, beside where the incident was said to have occurred, was cordoned off and surrounded by a heavy Garda presence yesterday. It reopened for business today.
Gardaí in Naas are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen anything unusual on Millicent Road or who can assist Gardaí to contact them at Naas Garda station on 045 - 884300, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
