DRASTIC change in weather on the way with Status Yellow WARNING in place for 11 counties

Here we go again

Although we’re more than halfway through May Met Eireann have delivered the news we were all dreading.

The national forecaster is predicting heavy rain over the next 24 hours and has issued a Status Yellow rainfall warning for 11 counties.

The warning, which is in place for Longford, Cavan, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Roscommon, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry and Limerick, is set to kick in at 7pm this evening for 24 hours.

On their website Met Eireann are warning of “a spell of rain will lead to accumulations of 25mm to 35mm of rainfall over a 24 hour period.”

Although the worst of the rain is forecast for Munster, Connaught and West Ulster, drizzle and colder temperatures are expected nationwide.

The rain will persist into the early parts of tomorrow and temperatures will be between 11 and 13 degrees.
