Parents have been warned to stop using the product immediately
Smyths Toys have recalled a popular kids’ toy over safety concerns.
The product, the Hauck, Nerf Battle Racer, is being recalled due a fault with its steering wheel with Smyths concerned that it could detach or break and therefore injure a child.
A notice posted on the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission website states: “The fault involves the steering wheel which may detach, break or crack during use, posing a laceration or collision hazard to young children.”
The product was available in stores between the 1st January 2016 and the 31st March 2017 and the CCPC confirmed there was 324 of the toys sold in that period.
