Robin Thicke would love to record a tennis-themed remix of his hit single Blurred Lines.
Robin Thicke wants to do a Blurred Lines remix with tennis star Andy Murray.
The R&B singer-songwriter is currently enjoying international success with his hit single Blurred Lines, which has topped charts in more than 60 countries. Robin is eager to see the song featuring Pharrell Williams and T.I. continue to perform well, so thinks adding this year's Wimbledon champion Andy to the line-up might help.
"I think I am going to do a remix with Andy Murray now," he laughed to UK TV show Lorraine. "Congratulations to Andy, congratulations buddy."
When it was suggested that a video featuring beautiful girls brandishing tennis racquets could be made for the remix, Robin laughed and said: "Yeah! Oh, I like that!"
Robin isn't Andy's only celebrity fan.
A host of stars including Victoria Beckham, Gerard Butler, Bradley Cooper and Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood watched the 26-year-old win the men's singles final at Wimbledon on Sunday. Andy has revealed David Beckham phoned him to offer his congratulations after his triumph against Novak Djokovic.
Robin is thrilled Blurred Lines has performed so well. The 36-year-old has been in the music industry for many years writing and producing for other big names. He is delighted to have finally become an internationally recognised artist.
"After making music since I was 12 years old, I did get that feeling [that Blurred Lines would be a hit], but then when you are wrong a few times you start to lose faith in that feeling, you know? Even when we made the record we were very excited, we thought that it could be something but we had no idea it could have this type of success," he said. "All of these songs I have written or produced for other people actually came about when I was a teenager. Then I started seeing them enjoying all this success and I was like, 'Wait a second, I got to work on my own music.' So then I devoted time to my music and then after five or six albums here we are with my first international hit!"
