Dominic Cooper 'confused' about Captain America 213th Jun 13 | Music & Movies
Dominic Cooper has "definitely" put on a costume and shot some scenes for the Captain America sequel.
Dominic Cooper "never knows what to say" when he is asked about his possible role in Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier. It has been rumoured that Dominic will reprise his role as Howard Stark for the second instalment of the superhero movie. The character will apparently appear in a flashback scene, but the British actor claims he is just as confused as everyone else about his involvement."Well, I kind of am, I never know what to say about this. But I have definitely put the costume on. I have worn the costume and we have shot something, but how it's going to enter into the next phase of what they are planning I don't know. I sound so dodgy, I don't even believe myself! I have shot some scenes," he told UK TV show This Morning."I went off and shot something, but I can't even work out how my character can be in it; wouldn't I be dead? But anything is possible. They are quite secretive about where they are going to go with the characters and how it will slot in, you have no idea. So you turn up, put your costume on and do as you are told."Dominic is currently promoting his latest film, Summer in February. This is a marked departure from the comic book blockbuster Captain America, as it focuses on a Bohemian group of artists spending time in the English countryside. While shooting the movie, Dominic and his co-stars - including Downton Abbey actor Dan Stevens - spent time in Cornwall and visited the same places as their characters frequented."Unlike other films where you are very spread out and in different locations, we were in this place the entire time. We were all staying in the hotel that they stayed in when they lived down there. We went to the same tiny pub they had been to," he explained. "We would sit around just as they had done 100 years ago and discuss the issues of the day and our work, how appalling we were at our paintings. It was great fun to be there and be in those surrounding."In Summer in February, Dominic plays outspoken artist AJ Munnings. The film follows the true love story of AJ and his best friend Gilbert Evans falling for the same girl. Dominic enjoyed playing such a controversial character."There are mixed opinions of him. It is certainly interesting playing this man from the view of someone else's diary entries, so another man's idea of who he was. But there is also a wonderful piece of radio you can hear from years ago when he retired as the president of the Royal Academy. He is much older then but you can really get a clear understanding of the type of man he was," Dominic laughed. "He didn't care what anyone thought. So when you have wonderful material like that you can have an idea of how that person started and what he was like as a younger man. He was probably wonderful to be around and have a drink with or have fun with, but if you got on the wrong side of him it would be a different matter."
