Four Benefits of Dairy Products

Strengthens bones

Milk is known to contain calcium, but the question is what does calcium do? Calcium is used to build and strengthen your bones, it is vital at a young age to consume a high level amount of calcium.  When you start to age, our bone strength reduces.

Reduces the risk of Breast Cancer

Conjugated linoleic acid (CLA) is a very important acid that is present in the fat of milk. CLA slows the development of mammary tumours. Postmenopausal women with high levels of CLA in their blood and fatty tissue have a 70% lower chance of breast cancer.

Reduces the risk of Colon Cancer

Dairy products contain high levels of probiotics, yogurt in particular. Probiotics have been shown to help reduce gastric problems.  An increased consumption of dairy products has been shown to decrease the risk of colon cancer in both sexes by up to 40%.

Protein

A glass of milk not only contains calcium but protein, protein is very important in the development of muscle. Dairy products all contain amino acids, vital in aiding muscle recovering, making it the perfect thing to consume after a workout.  Milk isn't the only dairy product high in proteinm Cottage cheese also has very high protein count, this might explain why you see 'bodybuilders' eating cottage cheese as if it was cheesecake!
