The much loved soap star is facing bankruptcy proceedings
Coronation Street actor Michael Le Vell is reportedly facing bankruptcy proceedings after paying £200,000 in legal fees clearing his name against child sex claims.
Le Vell, who plays Kevin Webster in the soap, had to fork out for his legal fees as well as being forced to give up his job on Corrie until he was cleared of all 12 counts back in 2013.
According to the Sun, the Bankruptcy Unit of the Land Registry has now contacted Le Vell.
A source told the paper: 'He had false accusations hanging over him for years and couldn’t work.'
Le Vell’s marriage also broke down during the trial and he had to sell their £750,000 home in Chesire.
The actor has been offered a new £250,000 contract by Coronation Street earlier this year.
