Lily Allen slammed online after London mosque attack tweet19th Jun 17 | Entertainment News
Lily Allen has lashed out at the "abhorrent" messages she's received in the wake of a terrorist attack near a British mosque.
In the early hours of Monday morning (19Jun17) worshippers were mowed down outside the Muslim Welfare House in Finsbury Park, London, killing one and injuring 10 others. A 48-year-old white man has been arrested.
Not long after the attack Lily tweeted "Radicalized by the British media. #FinsburyPark" to her nearly six million followers, which attracted an instant online backlash.
While many of Lily's followed agreed with her sentiments, others were vocal with their opposition, labelling Lily a "muppet" and stating she has a "hate inciting" Twitter account.
"I'm deleting my tweets you all know where I stand on this," she responded.
"The replies I'm getting are. This has attracted the worst of the worst."
Lily is known for her left wing views, and often posts her political musings on social media.
She caused a storm last year when she apologised on behalf of the U.K. in regards to the plight of refugees forced to live in the now demolished Calais refugee camp.
