The A Man Without Love singer remains extremely popular with the older generation, and continues to tour the world putting on concerts. And despite his advancing age, Engelbert has no intention of giving his job up anytime soon.

"I love what I do. I don't know where my energy comes from, but I don't believe in having things done. I'm growing old gracefully," he smiled during an interview with The Belfast Telegraph newspaper.

Engelbert remains most famous for his hit Release Me, which stopped The Beatles from getting a number one with their double release Penny Lane/Strawberry Fields Forever in the U.K. singles charts.

However, the British band never held a grudge against the singer for denying them the top spot.

"I'm a big Beatles fan, but they were real gentlemen and they never mentioned it. I talked with Paul (McCartney) and (Ringo Starr) and they never brought it up," he remembered.
