Sir Ben Kingsley will portray Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann in Operation Finale.
Operation Finale, directed by Chris Weitz, will centre on a group of Israeli spies tasked with finding Eichmann in Argentina in the 1960s, so he could be put on trial for war crimes.
The Schindler's List actor will star alongside Oscar Isaac, who will play Israeli Mossad agent Peter Malkin, whose sister and her kids were murdered by the Nazis. The movie will begin shooting in Argentina in the autumn (17) and Isaac will also produce the project.
Eichmann was a top officer in Adolf Hitler's Nazi SS paramilitary organisation and one of the main men behind the Holocaust. He was captured by Mossad in Argentina in 1960 and later found guilty of war crimes and executed in 1962.
Kingsley has a busy schedule ahead of him and will next be seen in films Wake, Red Sea Diving Resort, Mary, Backstabbing for Beginners, Nomis, Intrigo: Death of an Author, and A Doll's House. In Mary, Kingsley will portray another historical figure - Roman king Herod the Great. The film centres on Jesus' parents Mary and Joseph's lives under Herod's rule.
He is also starring alongside James McAvoy, Nicholas Hoult and John Boyega in the four-part miniseries remake of the 1978 animated film Watership, which was based on Richard Adams' 1972 novel of the same name about a group of rabbits who try to find a safe new home after their warren is destroyed.
The miniseries, which will be computer animated, is set to air over four one-hour parts at the end of 2017.
