Sharon Osbourne convinced stress triggered her cancer18th Jun 17 | Entertainment News
Sharon Osbourne is convinced her cancer was brought on by stress.
Ozzy Osbourne's wife, who was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2002, tested positive for the genes that cause breast and colon cancer, but she feels the disease was triggered by stress.
"I believe that when I first had cancer, I believe it was caused by stress, but saying that I did have the genes in my body for both breast cancer and colon cancer and when I was tested I did have those genes," she said on her U.S. chat show The Talk on Friday (16Jun17).
"But I think that a lot of people are born with different genes for different cancers, but it's stress that kicks it off. I believe that."
The rock matriarch-turned-TV personality has recently had to dismiss reports suggesting she is gravely ill and only has "weeks to live".
A month ago (May17) she assured The Talk viewers and fans all was well with her by making fun of tabloid articles focused on her health struggles.
"I have always wanted to be on those tabloids," she said in reference to the National Enquirer reports. "I wish they'd just said I was joining Elvis in space. I think it's quite fabulous."
Osbourne underwent back surgery in March (17) but the 64-year-old insisted she is healing well: "I had back surgery," she continued. "I was in agony. It's coming up (on) three months. Every day I get stronger and stronger, and I'm doing fine. Unless they know something I don't know..."
