Steve Harvey's ex-wife alleges he tortured her in $60 million lawsuit19th May 17 | Entertainment News
Steve Harvey's ex-wife Mary Lee Harvey has alleged he mentally tortured her in a new $60 million (£46 million) lawsuit.
The former couple divorced in 2005 after a nine-year marriage and have since been involved in bitter legal disputes.
Harvey's second wife Mary Lee, who now has the surname Vaughn, filed a lawsuit against her TV presenter ex-husband on Wednesday, according to court documents obtained by editors at Entertainment Tonight.
Her complaint alleges she was subjected to "prolonged torture with the infliction of severe mental pain and suffering," during her marriage to the 60-year-old Miss Universe host, with whom she has a son, Wynton, 19.
She is demanding $60 million in damages alleging Harvey is guilty of offences including child endangerment, torture, kidnapping, intentional infliction of emotional distress. The lawsuit also makes additional claims of harassment, brainwashing and theft by deception.
Vaughn, who plans to represent herself in court, further accused her ex-husband of "murdering" her "soul".
The lawsuit is not the first time Harvey's ex-wife has made allegations relating to her marriage; in 2013 she was jailed for 30 days for contempt of court after violating a confidentiality clause in the terms of the couple's divorce by posting videos on YouTube.
Harvey has remarried since their bitter divorce battle, tying the knot with Marjorie Bridges in 2007.
