Katy Perry stuns art lovers with fruity video installation at museum18th May 17 | Entertainment News
Katy Perry startled art lovers on Saturday (13May17) by appearing body-less for an installation at the Whitney Museum in New York City to promote her new single.
The pop star teamed up with prankster Derek Blasberg and went undercover as part of a Bon Appetit: Feast of Life video art installation.
Katy's head was covered up under a serving dish as she hid under a picnic table adorned with fruit.
Willing visitors to the museum were invited to be part of the installation and they were ushered into a room, where the spread created by "new artist" Katheryn Hudson - Perry's real name - lay before them.
Blasberg removed the serving dish to reveal the pop star's head and Perry began chatting to fans as they asked questions about the weird and creepy installation.
"This is not one of the most unusual situations I've met someone in," the I Kissed a Girl singer said, adding, "It's, like, the 67th weirdest thing I've ever done."
Many art fans involved in the prank didn't recognise Perry at first, while some were left speechless by the sight of the singer's head.
Video footage of the museum practical joke was posted on Vanity Fair's website on Thursday (18May17).
