The R&B star took to Twitter on Saturday (18Mar17) to ask fans for help in finding her cousin Lexus Dupaty, who went missing on Friday evening (17Mar17).

"My cousin Lexus is missing.. she has a severe mental disorder, don't approach her she may be scared and run, please call the police," Kehlani tweeted alongside a picture of a missing person flyer depicting Lexus.

Police officers in Vallejo, California had already launched an appeal on Facebook looking for help in finding the 26-year-old, whom they described as having "mental disabilities which impact her ability to care for herself."

Lexus was found on Sunday (19Mar17), and the 21-year-old singer thanked her fans for sharing her post as it had apparently led to someone coming forward with information that led to her relative being located.

Kehlani wrote on Twitter, "THANK YOU SO MUCH GUYS MY COUSIN HAS BEEN FOUND THANKS TO SOMEONE SEEING THE POST AND CALLING THE AUTHORITIES THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!"

She later explained in an Instagram post that a member of the public had seen Lexus in a park and alerted the authorities.

The star has bounced back from a difficult 2016, during which she was placed under psychiatric observation after a suicide attempt, by releasing her debut studio album SweetSexySavage.

However, she was forced to postpone the European leg of her world tour last week (end19Mar17) in order to undergo a hernia operation.
