Hugh Jackman producing The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian adaptation

Actor Hugh Jackman is producing a big screen adaptation of young adult novel The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian.

The X-Men star will also appear in the film in a supporting role, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

The film centres on a cartoonist who lives on the Spokane Indian Reservation, but leaves to attend an all-white high school that has an Indian school mascot.

The book's author, Sherman Alexie, will write the screenplay.
