R&B star Jeremih has taken to Twitter to explain himself after appearing to swear at the crowd as he stormed offstage during a hometown concert in Chicago, Illinois.
The Birthday Sex singer, who is currently on tour with musician PartyNextDoor, cut short his set during a Tuesday night (29Nov16) show at the Aragon Ballroom after struggling with technical difficulties.
Video footage posted online appears to show Jeremih experiencing issues with his microphone during a performance of his Wale collaboration Body, before shouting an expletive in the direction of the audience, dropping his mic, and walking offstage.
"They some haters, f**k y'all," he can be heard yelling.
Jeremih later took to Twitter to attempt to clear up the incident, insisting he wasn't directing his anger at fans.
"Chicago, u know I love y'all (sic)," he began in a series of posts on Wednesday (30Nov16). "I didn't say 'f**k y'all' I said 'ah they some hatas! F**k yalll! (to the sound people) that cut off my ears (in-ear monitors) while performing (sic)".
Continuing to vent his anger, he then turned on the show's promoters, adding, "Truth is 'they' didnt want me 2 perform tonight... it sad people will take ur money and blatantly make it seem like I only want to do 2 songs (sic)."
His Summer's Over tour with PartyNextDoor is set to continue in Houston, Texas on Thursday night (01Dec16).
