Neil Young pulls out of Australia and New Zealand tour29th Nov 16 | Entertainment News
Veteran rocker Neil Young has pulled out of a planned tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Last month (Oct16) bosses at Frontier Touring announced Neil and his band Promise of the Real would be playing a series of indoor and outdoor arena dates next year (17).
However on Tuesday (29Nov16) Frontier executives announced the tour would not be going ahead.
"We regret to advise that Neil Young will unfortunately no longer be undertaking a 2017 headline tour of Australia and New Zealand as previously 'teased' on our social media," a post on the concert promotion company's Facebook page read.
The initial announcement of the tour did not include any specific tour dates.
It stated, "Young will perform headline dates in both countries (New Zealand and Australia), including indoor arenas and special outdoor shows. He'll be joined on stage by Promise of the Real - a five-piece Californian band featuring Willie Nelson's sons Lukas and Micah."
The 71-year-old musician is also on the bill at Australia's Byron Bay Bluesfest in April (17). The event's orgsanisers are yet to explain if the abandonment of the tour will affect the festival.
Representatives for Neil did not respond when asked whether his Byron Bay Bluesfest gig would still be going ahead as planned.
