Dennis Hopper's rare record collection up for sale

29th Nov 16 | Entertainment News

Late actor Dennis Hopper's daughter is selling his personal album collection for $150,000 (120,900).

The 110 LPs feature records from artists including the Beatles, Simon & Garfunkel, and the late Leonard Cohen.

It also includes rare recordings, including a 1970 version of Blue Suede Shoes, which was made specifically for Hopper by Carl Perkins as a gift from Zack Van Arsdale.

The records will be sold on Moda Operandi and the buyer will also receive "handwritten notes to the actor from various artists and several unreleased records".

"This is a very personal biography of Dennis Hopper's musical journey," the listing reads.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale will be donated to The Future Heritage Fund, which supports different cultural organisations in New Mexico.
