Singer Kelle Bryan's lupus has become so severe she can no longer touch her kids without wearing protective gloves.

The former Eternal star opened up during an appearance on Loose Women on Monday (07Nov16), revealing she can't hug son Regan or daughter Kayori Rose without wearing gloves.

"Sometimes I can't touch them at all," she said, fighting back tears.

But the 41-year-old is lucky to be alive after contracting a virus from her daughter over the summer (16), which led to the collapse of her organs.

"I'm doing much better, I have just had a brain scan and the lupus is not on my brain and I have another bout of chemotherapy in six months' time."

Kelle was diagnosed in 2000, and she admitted she has struggled with her fingers and also developed a stutter as a result of the life-threatening condition.

"I woke up one morning and I couldn't move my finger," she explained. "I do my shopping and I can't always open my purse."
