The Cosby Show star Keshia Knight Pulliam celebrated the impending birth of her daughter at a baby shower on Sunday (16Oct16).

The 37-year-old announced her pregnancy in July (16), but the happy news has been eclipsed by drama surrounding her split from estranged husband Ed Hartwell, who filed for divorce in Fulton County, Georgia just days after she revealed she was expecting a baby girl.

In his legal papers submitted in July (16), the former American football player cited irreconcilable differences for the split, and demanded a paternity test as he was not convinced the unborn child was his. However, in August (16), Keshia hit back at Hartwell, claiming he was so abusive he allegedly plotted to kill their unborn child.

The two parties are still battling it out, but on Sunday, Pulliam put the drama to one side and gathered with her friends and family for a surprise baby shower.

"My Kamp Kizzy babies completely surprised me with a beautiful shower to celebrate Ella Grace today!!," she wrote on Instagram. "I am so grateful & appreciative of all of their hard work. My heart is full. Ella has so much love... she is going to grow up wondering why everyone doesn't have 72 aunties & uncles, 60 cousins & more sisters than she can count!! Lol!! I love you all so very much...

"Ella & I are the world's luckiest girls to have all of you. You are my first babies & I am so proud that Ella will have so many amazing role models to look up to."

In August (16), Keshia opened up about the inspiration behind her daughter's name, revealing, "I knew Ella was going to be my first baby girl's first name. Then in the midst of all of this... she's earned her middle name, Grace. When I tell you through all of this the grace of God has so been with us and has covered us and protected us - she's been my saving grace to get through it. It's knowing that it's not about me."

"Knowing that on days when I want to curl up in the bed, pull the covers over my head and cry until my eyes fall out, that is not an option because she feels everything I feel and right now, it is bigger than me - it's about her," she added. "It is about her being OK."
