Martin Garrix treats fan to Amsterdam trip18th Oct 16 | Entertainment News
Dutch dance star Martin Garrix has made one Irish fan's concert dreams come true by flying him to the Netherlands after answering a desperate Twitter plea.
Chris McPhadden recently detailed his financial difficulties in a message to Garrix on the microblogging site, asking for advice after revealing he had tickets to one of the DJ/producer's upcoming gigs during the Amsterdam Dance Event, a five-day festival which kicks off on Wednesday (19Oct16), but could no longer afford the travel costs.
"I bought the tickets to his show when they first went on sale because I was afraid they would sell out," McPhadden explains, "but I went to Sziget in Budapest in August, and traveled America in September, and the flights had went up (sic) 300 euros, and I couldn't afford them anymore, so I chanced my luck with Martin - and well, luck of the Irish he replied."
The 20-year-old star reached out to McPhadden via Twitter and then exchanged a series of direct messages to help the fan book a return flight from Dublin to Amsterdam.
McPhadden shared the Twitter exchange online, and in one message, he told Garrix, "You have literally made my year... I actually can't thank you enough..."
After receiving a copy of the flight confirmation from the kind-hearted DJ, he added, "Oh my god thank you so much", to which Garrix responded, "enjoy amsterdam and the show".
