Get the look: Lollipop lips20th Mar 17 | Beauty
An inside look at one of the hottest beauty trends to come out of London Fashion Week.
When models took to the catwalk during the Preen By Thornton Bregazzi presentation during London Fashion Week recently, it wasn't just their outfits which turned heads. On closer inspection, each model rocked shiny, sticky-looking colour all over their pouts, which is being dubbed the lollipop lip look - and we're big fans!
So for those of you who want to try out this laidback, imperfect look, find all the details here.
According to Briony Goodall of The Dollz Makeup and Hair company, you can recreate this finish at home very easily if you get your hands on the right products.
"An easy way to translate this runway look into everyday wear is to use a lip stain and apply to the lips. Using your finger you can lightly smudge it around the outer lip to create the lollipop effect," she told Cover Media, naming The Body Shop Lip & Cheek Stain as her favourite. "If you want to add a shine to your lollipop lips, grab some Vaseline or clear lipgloss, like the one from MAC, and apply to the centre of the lips."
Or, if you're looking for a stronger, bolder finish, Briony suggests a creamy lipstick for the desired finish - following the same method of smudging it around the outer lip.
There are countless products on the market to use to create the lollipop look, though you'll want to ensure you have a good base to begin with.
Murad's Rapid Collagen Infusion For Lips is described as a "lightweight serum", giving your lips a smooth finish and improving texture to build upon.
On top of this it "uses enhanced collagen technology to instantly plump and restore volume while powerful hydration boosters give silky smooth and soft lips," the company explains.
"I always tell my patients to smile daily and frown infrequently as the healing power of a smile is invaluable. Rapid Collagen Infusion for Lips will help give my patients and customers the freedom to express their happiness without worrying about the wrinkles it may leave," Howard Murad, M.D. CEO & Founder of Murad, Inc., says.
