Fans of Mexican singer Gerardo Ortiz wreaked havoc in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday (01Oct16) after the star pulled out of a concert at the last minute.
The artist had been booked to perform at the Explanada de Philadelphia alongside Banda Machos, and while the Latin group went ahead with its gig, Ortiz was a no-show.
It was subsequently revealed the Damaso singer had cancelled due to illness, but fans were not happy with the news and, after promoters refused to issue refunds, some began to express their anger by trying to destroy sound and lighting equipment onstage.
Video footage of the rampage has since surfaced online, but event organisers have yet to comment on the disastrous gig.
Ortiz's representatives later posted an apology note on the star's Facebook page, which simply blamed "health reasons" for his absence - hours after sharing a photo of the singer enjoying a few beers with friends as he prepared for his scheduled show.
