Animal Welfare Education

There was over 16,000 calls made to the National Animal Cruelty Helpline last year, with many of these said to be due to lack of education on animal welfare.

The CEO of the ISPCA, Dr Andrew Kelly and Pete Wedderburn joined Ireland AM this morning to talk about the importance of introducing animal welfare in the school curriculum in all primary schools nationwide.

The ISPCA is calling on the Department of Education to introduce a module on animal welfare and responsible pet ownership into the National School curriculum. And if you wouild like to find out more infomation you can visit: http://www.ispca.ie/ispca_education_new/sign_the_petition.
