
Ben Shephard
Ben Shephard, one of TV's top presenters, hosts the return of The Krypton Factor. Ben, who co-anchors GMTV Today, will put a new generation of contestants through the mental and physical tests on Britain's toughest game show.
The 33-year-old has previously worked on top-rated programmes including Who Dares Sings, The Xtra Factor and T4 and his interviews with celebrities, politicians, and sports stars have made him a firm favourite with TV audiences.
Away from his day job, Ben is renowned as a sports mad action man who has twice represented England in Soccer Aid charity matches.
Earlier this year he defeated singer Lemar in a boxing match for Sport Relief.
The popular TV presenter was born on 11th December 1974 in Essex. He studied for a degree in Dance, Drama and Theatre Arts at Birmingham University, where he achieved a 2:1 BA Honours degree. Ben has played for both the South East England's Under 16 and Under 18 football teams, and for the Senior Eastern Counties rugby team.
Ben has worked for numerous TV production companies, including Carlton and Planet 24, and has travelled solo around the world. Whilst travelling, he spent some time in France, utilising his fluent French and his wine tasting training by working in a French wine chateau.
Ben got his first TV break in March 1998 when he hosted Channel 4's 'Control Freaks' - a preview of the week's teen TV output. In May 1998, Ben joined 'The Bigger Breakfast', co-presenting during the school holidays with both Melanie Sykes and Josie D'Arby
Ben lives in South West London with his wife Annie and sons Samuel (born May 2005) and Jack (born January 2007).
