TV3 Group continues to grow audience share in 2014.
TV3 Group the only Irish broadcaster in the market to grow share in January 2014.
TV3 Adult 15+ share was up 5% to 10.68, the biggest increase recorded by any terrestrial channel in the country.
Commercial impacts have also increased with Adults 15+ rising by 6% and Adults 15-34 rising by 4.7%.
TV3 Group was the only Irish broadcaster to increase Adult share so far in 2014, growing by 3.6% overall. TV3 Adult 15+ share was up 5% to 10.68, the biggest increase recorded by any terrestrial channel in the country. Other audiences also grew share, with Adults 15-34 up 8.4%, Housekeepers with kids up 5.3% and Men 15-34 up 11.1%. TV3 commercial impacts have also increased with Adults 15+ rising by 6% and Adults 15-34 rising by 4.7%.
This increase in share for the broadcaster can be contributed to a number of its hit shows this year including Keith Barry: Brain Hacker which has reached 1,620,000 so far, The Cube, which reached 1,381,000 viewers, Off Their Rockers which has reached 1,069,000 viewers to date, The King of The Travellers which reached 574,600 viewers and The National TV Awards which reached 691,300 viewers.
TV3 is aiming to keep its audience share on the rise with the welcome addition of many new home-produced and acquired programming including The Lie, Crossfire, The People’s Debate with Vincent Browne, Death in Cuala, Tales of Irish Castles, Prison Families, Killers Behind Bars, Wentworth, Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway, Cork: Ireland’s Mega Ports and the second season of The Great Irish Bake Off.
Speaking about the growth in audience share, TV3 Director of Content, Jeff Ford said: “TV3 Group has continued to grow share year on year. These results reveal an incredibly positive start to the year for TV3 group and we intend to continue this success with the addition of many new outstanding shows in the schedule for the coming year. Our strategy to build audience share through quality home produced content is proving a big success with shows such as ‘Keith Barry Brain Hacker’, which is filmed in TV3’s Sony HD Studio, driving huge audiences.
