The day of reckoning has arrived as Rachel Reid is brought into the station to give her statement about her relationship with Sergeant Brian McGonigle in tomorrow night’s (Thursday 21st May) episode of Red Rock. Frustratingly, despite everything, Rachel is still defending her sordid lover and remains tight-lipped about the affair when questioned by Sergeant Tyrell.
At the same time, a worse-for-wear Brian shows up at the station demanding to see McKay. He is quickly ushered into McKay’s office so as not to bump into Rachel and nearby Dunedin Garda station is rapidly called to pick him up. As McKay enters the room, with Detective Nikki alongside as a witness, Brian continues to play the victim and tries to get them on side, but his words are falling on deaf ears.
During a break from interviewing, Rachel and Sharon have a heart-to-heart outside the station. As Rachel apologises to Sharon, she is also filled in on more of what happened that fateful day in the caravan park. Realising Brian did indeed leave her to die, she explodes with emotion as Sharon comforts the grieving fragile teen.
Sharon accompanies Rachel back in to continue giving her statement, where she finally cracks and confirms that her relationship with Brian was that of a sexual nature. Brian is formally charged with defilement of a minor, giving some much needed relief to the Gardaí and ending his reign of terror on Sharon.
Meanwhile, there’s some rare good news for the Hennessys as it is revealed David will not be charged for his involvement in Darren’s Kielys murder. Patricia suggests he go to Australia to visit his brother Simon. In Patricia’s eyes the move is a no brainer as it will put some space between David and Katie Kiely and also give Michael some space as well. But just as things begin to look up for the Hennessys, Katie unexpectedly shows up at the pub and drops a massive bombshell. She gives David some shocking news that is sure to change all of their lives forever.
