TV3’s brand new Saturday night entertainment show sees players earn money for doing absolutely nothing! Hosted by hilarious TV presenter and former Big Brother winner turned presenter, Brian Dowling, Sitting on a Fortune is a formidable and funny play-along entertainment show that is guaranteed to put bums on seats. Players earn money for sitting on their bum, so the more they are in their seats the more their prize fund increases. It’s a show where you really don’t want to be the last man standing.
On a set dominated by super-sized chairs, Sitting On A Fortune will see three couples take turns to sprint to the games area to take on a fiendish puzzle – but there’s a catch. All the time they’re away from their chair, their rivals’ prize pot increases. The longer it takes a couple to solve a puzzle, the more money the other two couples could win. Once they think they have solved the puzzle, each couple must race back and sit down again, but they’ll only cut off the cash to their rivals if they’ve been successful.
It’s a game where quick feet are as important as quick thinking, as only one couple can reach the end game where they’ll have a chance to literally sit on a fortune. This fast-paced show will have you screaming at the TV. It’s always easier when you play from the sofa!
Commenting on hosting the brand new primetime entertainment show on TV3, Brian Dowling, said:“I’m so excited to be part of the Saturday night lineup on TV3. It’s especially great to be back in Ireland doing what I love to do. ‘Sitting On A Fortune’ was so much fun to film and I loved every minute of working on the show. It’s a great format and I look forward to bringing some high energy, fantastic family entertainment to everyone at home – and just before The X Factor too. You’ll be glued to your seats!”
In the first episode of the series, blonde Dublin bomb-shells, sisters Laura and Annmarie, are up against Limerick lads Kevin and Seán. Doting married couple Mark and Danielle, are also in the mix with hunky Mark catching Brian’s eye.
As the first round gets underway, a massive prize fund is generated, resulting in lots of pressure and plenty of laughs. Nerves get the better of Mark when he is led to think that Arnold Schwarzenegger is the current President of the United States! Limerick lads Kevin and Seán have everyone in hysterics as they battle to beat Dublin siblings Annmarie and Laura. Finally, the head-to-head round sees Mark and Annmarie trying to outwit each other in the battle to become the first to sit on the correct sofa three times.
Following extremely tense moments, Annmarie comes out on top, much to the delight of her sister Laura. €10,007 is up for grabs with a question on which Muppet had a hit duet with Ozzy Osbourne in the 1970s? But with €10,007 riding on the final answer, find out if the blonde-bombshells took home all, half, or none of the money.
‘Sitting on a Fortune’ airs this Saturday (25th October) at 6.55pm on TV3.
