TV3 GROUP RELEASE
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Monday18th August, 2014.
TV3 chooses Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin fundraising body, CMRF, as its Official Charity for the year.
CMRF highlights shortfall of €2million in fundraising target
The principal fundraising body for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin, The Children’s Medical & Research Foundation (CMRF) has highlighted a €2million shortfall in its fundraising target to mark its selection by TV3 as the station’s official charity for the next 12 months. From 1st September TV3 will lend its support to The CMRF which will involve many of the station’s well known personalities in fundraising activities. As part of its commitment, TV3 will develop a number of initiatives to help raise much-needed funds for The CMRF over the next year and support the charity’s important campaigns.
The CMRF was shortlisted and selected by TV3 as its official charity due to its valuable work as the principal fundraising body for Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin and the National Children’s Research Centre and its dedication to working to improve the quality of life for current and future generations of sick children throughout Ireland.
The CMRF also plays a key role in supporting the funding of Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital, Crumlin to deliver state of the art facilities, equipment and infrastructure, accommodation for families and other special requirements and needs for some of Ireland’s sickest children.
The current €2million shortfall in its fundraising target is a concern to The CMRF who need these funds to support Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital Crumlin and The National Children’s Research Centre.
The support of TV3 has been warmly welcomed by The CMRF. Commenting on the announcement, Joe Quinsey, CEO, The CMRF, said: “We are delighted to have been selected by TV3 as its official charity for the year. TV3’s support and the access it offers to the station’s many viewers all over Ireland present us with a great platform to raise awareness of what we do and raise much-needed funds. We are currently €2million short of our fundraising target for the year, so we are keen to use the support of TV3 to help us drive greater participation in our fundraising activities and get closer to our fundraising target.
“Our annual fundraising target allows us to improve facilities and the level of care offered at the hospital, but also to sustain our investment in essential research into the causes and treatments of childhood disease”, he added.
Everyone at TV3 is delighted to be able to play a part in supporting the CMRF and is looking forward to getting involved in fundraising initiatives which will be developed by the station.
Welcoming the partnership, David McRedmond, TV3 Group CEO, said: “TV3 supports many charities but this is the first time that we have chosen a charity partner that we will support across the next twelve months. The CMRF is such an admirable and important charity and we look forward to working with them on a number of campaigns, the first of which will be launched next month. As Ireland’s most successful commercial broadcaster reaching over 3.4million viewers monthly, we are in a fantastic position to be able to help The CMRF achieve its goal of raising awareness and much needed funds.”
Details of TV3’s fundraising initiatives to support the CMRF will be announced in the coming weeks.
