Xpose’s glamorous presenter Lisa Cannon is swapping studio lights and glitzy red carpets for the gym in a brand new TV3 documentary ‘Lisa Cannon: Presenter To Powerlifter’. In the space of just eight weeks, Lisa is aiming to go from novice to pro-powerlifter, pushing the boundaries of her physical and mental state. Lisa is setting herself the ultimate challenge of competing in the Powerlifting Championships, alongside women from all over the country, some of which have been training for many months and even years.

Following an extremely strict diet and heavily regimented exercise plan alongside top personal trainers, including Welsh trainer Non Evans and Robert Lynch from Body Health and Fitness, the gorgeous presenter is aiming to drastically transform her body. TV3 was behind the scenes to document the highs and lows of her journey as she prepared herself to get down and dirty, and power her way to success.

A self-proclaimed lover of chocolate and wine, Lisa has never been overly interested in diet or exercise although she admits that working in the public eye has its pressures. The idea of transforming her body and sticking to a strict diet is completely foreign to her so needless to say; the eight weeks did not go off without a hitch.

From weight plateaus and struggling with her mood to hand callouses and a non-stop work schedule, Lisa shares it all as she brings viewers on her journey from  novice to pro-powerlifter

Speaking about sharing her journey with viewers, Lisa said: “I have been so focused on the challenge itself that I almost forgot that it’s going to air on TV3 so there’s a whole new set of butterflies and nerves. I took part in the Powerlifting Championships last weekend so I’m not going to give anything away, you’ll have to tune in to see how I got on but I’m very excited for everyone to see my journey. It’s a bit of a blur now so hopefully I didn’t say or do anything too embarrassing.”

Will Lisa fail or succeed in becoming one of Ireland’s next female power lifters? Tune in to ‘Lisa Cannon: Presenter To Powerlifter’ on Tuesday 15th April at 8pm on TV3.
