TV3’s ‘Christmas Toys’ proves a massive ratings winner reaching over 600,000 viewers.

 

‘Christmas Toys’ was the most watched programme in its time slot on Friday.

 

TV3 has today announced its figures for Christmas Toys, revealing that an average of 353,000 viewers watched the festive toy show on Friday at 8pm, with the programme reaching 602,000 people in total.

 

In anticipation of the most magical time of the year, toddlers to teens across the country tuned into TV3 on Friday to see Alan Hughes, with the help of some very lucky kids, try out and demonstrate some of the best toys Ireland has to offer.

 

Christmas Toys took a 28.9% share of Housekeepers with Children and a 34.4% share of Children aged 4-14. The programme’s rating was more than double the slot average this year. It was also the most watched programme in its time slot on Friday.

 

Speaking about success of Christmas Toys, TV3 Head of Daytime, Victoria O’Brien said:

 

“We are delighted that ‘Christmas Toys’ has proved a huge success with TV3 viewers. I think the decision to broadcast at the more child-friendly time of 8pm, giving kids the chance to see the show before bed time, was a key factor in attracting such a large audience. I hope that TV3 has succeeded in giving children and adults all across Ireland that festive feeling in the run up to Christmas.”
