ALFONSO BLASTS MATTHEW

A row broke out between Matthew and Alfonso today after several days of simmering tension.

Matthew was picking up Alfonso on his grammar that he meant the word minimum when Alfonso had used maximum in reference to the number of days he had to stay in the jungle before the public voted celebrities out of the jungle.

The Hollywood actor exploded: “Matthew enough! Enough! OK enough! I’ve had enough of your f***ing sh**. I’m done with you talking about it.”

Matthew continued to say Alfonso said maximum instead of minimum and told him: “You can apologise to me later Alfonso.”

In the Bush Telegraph he said: “It was a completely unnecessary outburst.”

Alfonso said: “I’ve had enough of his ass, I’m done with him saying every time I say something ‘no you are wrong, I’m right you are wrong’ well no you are f***ing not! I will take respect in a debate rather than you are f***ing wrong.”

Lucy said she didn’t want this to start chipping away at Alfonso’s will to stay in the camp.

Becky observed: “Tensions are running high and people are starting to be effected by this experience.”

“There is no chance of an apology, I said yesterday that I was on the edge of blowing.”

Matthew said he’d given Alfonso the chance of an apology but “if he chooses not to then I’ll go over and see if I can encourage him to close it, he’s very emotional right now but I’ll let things go a little while longer and then see if I can make peace with him.”

There is definite friction between those two guys, David told the BT, ‘we’ve had one explosion and I hope that’s the end of it, but who knows there may be more explosions.

Alfonso explained his side of things to the other celebrities and Steve suggested that Alfonso spoke to Matthew.

“I just reached a point where I was like ‘Ok, is it possible to not jump on every word that someone says incorrectly in the camp because every time someone says something incorrectly he jumps. We all become part brain dead out here and don’t express ourselves as eloquently as we normally do and I’ve witnessed and experienced what he’s like and now I’m like enough! “He said to Steve.

The snooker player pointed out that Matthew wasn’t being personal at all. “You notice when you drew him out he wasn’t shaken by that he considers that was a good discussion he was presenting and can’t understand why you lost it because from his perspective that was a good discussion.”

He said in the Bush Telegraph “I think it’s very difficult for Alfonso coming into this environment and not knowing any of the personalities and difficult for him to grasp the humour and specifically Matthew’s role in life and how he’s got where he has. So naturally those two were going to clash and there is no-where to hide here in the jungle.”

David said the bad blood has been emerging between Alfonso and Matthew and today it really came to a head. “They were like two drama queens! It’s an emotional rollercoaster here, they haven’t been seeing eye to eye for some time but today it erupted into a real showbiz bitch!”

Lucy is concerned that they haven’t seen the end of the row. “I think Al might kick on, I think he might kick off seriously, I think he will go when he can.”

WHO SHOULD DO THE TRIAL?

Annabel received a laminate and explained that the celebrities would have to choose who would do today’s Bush Tucker Trial.  Annabel said that it was called ‘Drown Under’ and immediately said “If only we knew someone who can swim.”

However, rather than choose Olympic swimmer Rebecca straight away, she did the fairest thing and went around the camp to see if anyone else wanted to take part. Amy said that she could swim but she thought she wasn’t the strongest.  Vincent said he wanted to do it but “I think I know someone better.”  However, David said that he would like to have a go at it.

Rebecca said “Obviously I don’t mind doing it.” She revealed that she only swam in the sea for the first time this year.  “I’m not used to swimming around fish.  I would hope that I’d be capable of being in water and not freaking out.”

Lucy said “David I want you to have an opportunity to do a trial but because of the nature of the trial with it being water the only natural thing seems to be to go for Becca.  Only literally because its water.””  David rather dejectedly said “Yeah, ok, sure , absolutely.”

Annabel said “David are you heartbroken?  What would you think if we chose Becky the Olympic swimmer?”

Rebecca added “I don’t want to take the opportunity away from David.”  David said that he wanted to do the Trial and Rebecca said she didn’t mind.   “I’m obviously more comfortable in water but I don’t want to take the opportunity away from you” she explained.  Annabel told the two of them to close their eyes and took a vote.   Only Matthew voted for David and so Rebecca was voted to do the trial.

David looked disappointed.  “Nobody hates you.  We all love you” said Annabel. And Lucy explained that Becca hadn’t had the opportunity to do anything yet.  “She hasn’t been out of camp.”

David and Alfonso discussed who was yet to do a trial.  In addition to the two of them, there was Rebecca, Laila and Steve

David said later “They don’t really know me.  They’ve never seen me swimming.   Of course I’m not Olympic.  Who is?”

And he added “Everybody’s very opinionated on who hasn’t done a trial.  I’m quite aware I haven’t done a trial.”

“There’s a . . . I don’t know what it is but people are now becoming very opinionated and that can be dangerous.

“Definitely the mood has changed.  It’s almost us and them.  Those that have achieved and those that have yet to do a Trial.

He continued to say that he’d liked to have done the trial.  “I’d like to have had a crack at that.  But then, you know.”

As Rebecca psyched herself up, she said: “I have no fear.” Matthew advised her.  “You’re going to feel nervous before but remember in the bus you were nervous and then you quite enjoyed it.”

She also noticed a change in mood in the camp.  “The mood has slightly changed in camp.  A few tensions rising, frustrations, so it would be really good to get a good meal and boost everyone up.”

Vincent and David accompanied Rebecca to the trial.  “She’s used to competition and she wanted to do it but I’d like to have had a crack as well you see.”

And Rebecca added “I’m nervous because obviously the team chose me to do this so I don’t want to let the rest of the campmates down and hope I can do them proud.”

DROWN UNDER

Rebecca arrived at the Bush Tucker Trial area and was nervous.  “It’s my first trial.  It’s the first time I’ve ever done one.  I feel pressure because it’s my campmates who put me up.  It’s not the public.  It’s the rest of the camp who are relying on me to bring back the goods.  I think instantly when we heard the name Drown Under they went water and everyone went – turned around to me straight way.”

She continued “I’ve tried to stay as calm as possible.  It’s like preparing for a race.  I feel like I’m back in the Olympics.”

Dec suggested “Mentally prepare.  Get in the zone.”  “It’s not quite the same as the Olympic Games.”  “Not quite.  There’s more at stake here right?” Dec replied.

“Oh yes, we’re starving” she said.

Rebecca had to climb into a big tank that was split into three compartments.  On the floor was a maze and ten stars.  Rebecca had to move the stars through the maze to release them, whilst the water level in the tank rose.  She had ten minutes to complete the task.

The chances are you may not be the only living thing in the tank” said Dec.

“Are you going to give it a go?” he asked.  “Oh yeah, for sure” Rebecca replied.

Rebecca started off well retrieving a star as the water started to cover the base of the tank.  As the water grew deeper, she was joined by crocs and yabbies.  Water lizards and water spiders soon joined her and Rebecca had to take a breath and bob down to move the stars.

Eels then joined her and it got harder for her to stay down to complete the task.  By the time she had six stars, there were mud crabs with her in the tank.

She gently moved a yabbie out of the way and took a breath.  “I don’t eat fish, I don’t like fish” she said as she got her eighth star.

As she tried to retrieve her last star, a mud crab tried to nip her.  “I don’t know what to do” she said.  She tried again from a different angle and got the full house.

She clambered out of the tank out of breath.  “How vicious was that crab” she said.  He didn’t want me to get that star.  He was proper going for it.  That one creeped me out.  It rose so quickly as well.  It was alright.  The water didn’t bother me and obviously all the crocs came to the top so every time you came for a breath, it was like oh hello hi friend, and went back own.  But yeah, it was ok apart from the crab.

“As exciting as winning an Olympic medal” asked Ant.  “If not more,” she replied.  “I thought so” he said.

“Everyone will be absolutely buzzing for sure.  We’re loving it.  Bye crocs”, she joked as she left the clearing.

OLYMPIC GOLD STARS

Rebecca returned to camp ecstatic that she had done so well in the trial.  “I’m absolutely buzzing.  My first trial, ten stars, I couldn’t be more happy.  I’m pleased with myself for doing it and yeah it was amazing and I loved it.”

Vincent said: “The fact that Rebecca came back with ten stars what was the maximum.  That was definitely the right decision that we made that we sent Rebecca to do the trial.”

She bounded into camp and was delighted with the positive reaction to her news.  “There were crocs, eels, lizards, spiders, crabs, like everything was in there.  They just kept throwing them in.  But it was so much fun.  It was mint.”

David said “It’s a feel good thing all round really.  It’s a feel good factor that she’s done it.  And it’s a feel good factor that she’s supplied food for everyone so everybody adores her.”

“I knew you’d do it” said Matthew.  “I’m so pleased” replied Rebecca.  David graciously hugged her saying “Fantastic.  Well done.”

But Alfonso said to David “You’d have done great.”

“I’d love to have had a go.  I’ve have had a bloody good try” said David.

KIAN AND JOEY ARE VOTED SAVIOURS

Ant and Dec went into camp and told the campmates the public had been voting but not to decide who would be doing the Bushtucker Trial.  Instead viewers voted for two campmates to become camp saviours.

Ant and Dec announced Joey and Kian would be the saviours and that five tokens would be up for grabs.  It would be up to Joey and Kian as to who the tokens would go to and therefore which campmates would be given immunity from evictions.   Joey and Kian were asked to leave immediately and they were taken to their own camp – Camp Saviour - with two beds.

After Joey and Kian left, the other campmates all seemed happy with the choice of saviours.

“It’s an impossible job,” said Annabel.

“It’s a huge amount of pressure,” added David.

They campmates discussed the fact that Joey and Kian would know who wants immunity.

“Joey and Kian want to stay and I think everybody else is quite happy to go,” laughed Matthew.

Steve was just happy that he could have Kian’s bed.  “Now that Kian and Joey have gone out to save us, I get a good night’s sleep,” he said happily.

Meanwhile, over in Camp Saviour, Kian and Joey were feeling the pressure.

“It’s a big responsibility to have to choose five campmates but that’s the card we’ve been dealt so we’ve just got to play it.  Hopefully we’ll make the right decision,” said Kian.  “Somebody’s going to be upset whatever we do,” he added.
