IT’S A REMATCH - JOEY AND MATTHEW GO HEAD TO HEAD FOR A SECOND TIME
Both Joey and Matthew were picked again for the Bush Tucker Trial. “I’m a tad hacked off. Do I look terrified? . . . Probably” said Matthew. Teammate Lucy said “I think Matthew is feeling the pressure to go out there and get the stars. I think he wants to come back and feel he’s done it for the team.” And as the Croc Creek team talked about the Trial, Alfonso said “it’s a rematch” whilst Kian predicted “I think its Joey and Matthew for 4 or 5 days.”
The mood was the same in Snake Rock. “It’s your own fault for being too popular and too lovely” said Steve as Joey wondered why he’d been picked again. Amy comforted Joey and told him that he would be fine.
She explained “I imagine if I was at home watching the TV, I’d be like ‘I want to see Joey’. I can totally understand why they’re putting him in but I do feel a bit sorry for him.”
Joey told his team “Every time I do something like this I always think of my dad because my dad’s a person who always pushes you and never lets someone down.”
Amy replied “And you’re the same. But you know what, come back with all or nothing and we’re still going to be proud of you. It’s a hard thing to do.”
As Joey made his way to the Trials area he said “the heart starts going a bit and the knee starts going. I was trying to not to think about it. All I can say is I’m going to try my best.”
And as Matthew made his way down he said “Bring it on. I will survive. I will endure it and I’m going to have to bring home the meals. I’m pretty sure I’m going to be up against Joey and his magnificent teeth. He and I seem to be of a similar mindset . . . I can’t believe I’ve just said that!”
UP TO YOUR NECK IN IT
The two campers met hosts Ant and Dec in the Trials Area. Joey arrived first and said that he didn’t think that he would have been picked again. He also thought that he would be facing Alfonso.
Matthew was more precise with his predictions. “I thought it would be you” he said to Joey as he bounded up. “As long as I don’t have to eat testicles anymore I think I’ll be fine. I’ve been haunted by them all day.” Matthew said that he was looking for revenge. “Simple as that. Cold, mean revenge.” “And looking for food?” suggested Ant.
Matthew explained. “I’m not particularly hungry because I’ve got a gutful of testicles, brains and penis but the rest of the camp are starving.” “Nice supper last night?” he added to Joey. “Very nice. We had kangaroo innit” replied Joey.
Ant and Dec explained how the Trial would work. Both Joey and Matthew would stand in a separate giant hourglass, where they would be buried up to their necks. For every two minutes they stayed in the hourglass they would get a meal for camp. This being I’m A Celebrity, the two would be joined by various jungle critters.
In the event of a tie break, they would have to guess when 60 seconds is up and push a button. Whoever got closest to 60 seconds would be the winner, but being an all or nothing trial, only the winner would have food for camp.
“We’re good to go all the distance” said Matthew bravely.Matthew and Joey found themselves buried up to their necks in meal worms, crickets, millipedes, soldier crabs and cockroaches.
Tune in to I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! tonight (20th November) at 9pm on 3e to see whether it was Matthew or Joey who won the Trial and took home food for their campmates.
A MASSAGE FROM AMY FOR HAPPY JOEY
Joey complained that his neck was hurting, so Amy offered to give him a massage. Joey looked delighted. “Have you done this before?” he asked her, as she rubbed his shoulders. “You’re quite good,” he said with a big smile on his face. “It’s nice, really nice, getting a massage off a beauty Queen,” Joey told the Bush Telegraph.
“I can’t take the sexual tension anymore,” blurted out Rebecca having endured enough of Amy and Joey’s flirtation. “It’s so awkward for me and Steve just sat here watching you two,” she added. “I feel like I’m watching porn with my parents,” Rebecca laughed.
