Driving Seat series two returns to our screens this weekend with a fresh twist. Xposé favourite Glenda Gilson will join Aidan Timmons and Kirsteen O’Sullivan as they test out the latest cars in addition to delivering entertaining alternatives to your every day motoring review show, including road tests, news and features.
Geared at car enthusiasts and those hoping to get a few useful tips before making that all important purchase, Driving Seat promises to provide a well rounded review of cars for those in the market and also to deliver a fresh approach to testing the latest models.
In this Sunday’s first episode, Glenda’s first task is to review the Mitsubishi ASX mini SUV with busy mum-of-three Clodagh Lenehan. Kirsteen packs her bags and travels to sunny Barcelona to attend the launch of the Mazda 3, while Aidan investigates the very real danger of texting while driving. Aidan also helps young student George McGovern to find a car on a tight budget. Aidan tests the durability of the VW Amarok when he visits the Heritage Community Garden in Donnybrook and when Kirsteen arrives back, she meets car enthusiast Scott Neary and takes his Kataram Superlight R for a test drive.
Speaking about joining the Driving Seat crew, new recruit Glenda Gilson, said: “I’m delighted to be joining the Driving Seat crew for series two – I’ve always been a bit of a tomboy when it comes to cars so test driving the latest motors is right up my street. I know Aidan and Kirsteen well and we had great fun filming together as a team!”
Driving Seat S2 Episode 1 airs Sunday 3rd November at 3.40pm on TV3.
