TV3 will be using an all station approach on the historic visit of US President Barack Obama

TV3 will bring you comprehensive coverage of the president arriving in Ireland

TV3 will broadcast the President’s visit as he and the first lady are welcomed to Ireland by President Mary McAleese at Áras an Uachtaráin

TV3 will capture President Obama’s visit to his ancestral family home in Moneygall, Co. Offaly before returning to Dublin for a gala celebration of his visit to Ireland where he will address the audience at the end of the entertainment

Tune in to President Barack Obama’s visit to Ireland, Monday 23rd May 2011 from 7am on TV3

This Monday 23rd May 2011, one of the world’s most iconic figures, US President Barack Obama, will be visiting Ireland for the first time with the first lady Michelle Obama and TV3 will be there capturing every moment.

Ireland AM will be starting the TV3 all station approach to the President’s historic visit with a Barack Obama Ireland AM special at 7am. TV3 will bring you comprehensive coverage of the president arriving in Ireland from 9am. We will continue to broadcast the President’s visit as he and the first lady are welcomed to Ireland by President Mary McAleese at Áras an Uachtaráin and then meet the Irish cabinet at Farmleigh.

TV3 will capture President Obama’s visit to his ancestral family home in Moneygall, Co. Offaly before he returns to Dublin for a gala celebration of his visit to Ireland, which will be held in College Green, Dublin. Finally, the President will make a public appearance at the gala celebration and will address the audience at the end of the entertainment, following in the footsteps of former US president Bill Clinton, who addressed a crowd of thousands in College Green in 1995.

At 8pm, TV3 will be airing ‘Obama - A Day to Remember’, a TV3 special which will give full highlights of the whole day of the President’s visit, including his meeting with President Mary McAleese and Taoiseach Enda Kenny, his visit to his ancestral family home in Moneygall and his speech to the Irish nation.
