Oscar Isaac is elated to begin filming J.J. Abrams' Star Wars: Episode VII in a few weeks.Oscar Isaac gave his parents a "nerd-gasm" after landing a role in Star Wars: Episode VII.The Disney feature, which is directed by J.J. Abrams, has been shrouded in secrecy since it was greenlit in 2012.On April 29th the studio shared an official cast list with the public and Oscar's loved ones were delighted to see his name on the roster."[We start shooting] end of this month. It's incredibly exciting because [when] I grew up... my family [have always been] huge, huge fans," he told Cover Media."My uncle and cousin collect the toys and have Star Wars parties. When I told them, they had the biggest nerd-gasm. There is nothing I could possibly have said that would have, or could ever, top that."Oscar joins several talented actors on the diverse cast, including fresh faces John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson and Max von Sydow. Veterans Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Kenny Baker have also signed on.Director J.J. wrote the Star Wars: Episode VII screenplay with Lawrence Kasdan. The helmer is also serving on the production team with Lincoln producer Kathleen Kennedy and Bryan Burk.Disney's CEO Bob Iger confirmed crucial details about the film's plot during the company's annual shareholder meeting, which was held in Portland, Oregon in March.The businessman noted the project, which has a $200 million budget, is set 30 years after Return of the Jedi took place. Bob also revealed legendary robot R2-D2 would make an appearance in the sequel.Star Wars: Episode VII reaches theatres worldwide on December 18, 2015.
