Grace Mahary loved working with Hedi Slimane at Paris Fashion Week.Grace Mahary found Hedi Slimane "sweet" and "surprising".The Canadian model walked for the Saint Laurent designer's Spring/Summer 13 collection at Paris Fashion Week and joined Slimane at his post-show celebrations. The 22-year-old, whose parents hail from Eritrea, Africa, got on well with the fashion mogul at the event."He [Slimane] was very sweet and interested in my ethnic origin," Grace told Vogue."He also surprised me when he photographed the final looks himself with this brilliant film camera. Every girl's shot oozed retro cool, all in black and white. Everyone was pretty calm, but excited to put on a great show. The best part was the mob of us leggy girls hiding under huge floppy brimmed black hats in our sleek blazers and gowns - it was so dramatic."The supermodel was also hired to walk for milliner Philip Treacy's show at London Fashion Week, which featured pop icon Lady Gaga.Grace, who had her first big break working for Riccardo Tisci, said it was a "crazy" experience."She's [Lady Gaga] amazing. She greeted all of the girls backstage and even took pictures with the team," she gushed."It was a little crazy and you can only imagine how much singing, dancing, and fun took place just before we hit the runway. Luckily, my hat was super light."The beauty was scouted in a shopping mall, while browsing with her mother on holiday.Despite having now worked for a large range of iconic luxury brands, Grace still finds it hard to believe her luck."I still find it hard to accept that I'm a full time model," she marvelled."It's an unbelievable honour to have worked with iconic fashion houses like Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada, but the sweet designers behind Balenciaga and Saint Laurent were a pleasure to work with too. I have to admit though; I learned and laughed the most with Riccardo Tisci and his team at Givenchy."
