Quentin Tarantino has hinted he is set to retire from filmmaking within the next few years.
The 49-year-old director - whose slavery drama 'Django Unchained' is released next month - says he doesn't want to become an ''old'' helmer because filmmakers don't improve as they grow older. He told Playboy magazine: ''I just don't want to be an old man filmmaker. I want to stop at a certain point. Directors don't get better as they get older. ''Usually the worst films in their filmography are those last four at the end. I am all about my filmography, and one bad film f**ks up three good ones. ''But if I stop at 10, that would be okay as an artistic statement.'' Tarantino has directed eight feature films to date - including 'Pulp Fiction' and 'Kill Bill' - and recently hinted 'Inglourious Basterds' and 'Django Unchained' are the first two parts of a trilogy. He said: ''I don't know, 'Inglourious Basterds' and 'Django Unchained' bespeak a trilogy. As different as they are, there is a companion piece quality. There might very well be a third one. I just don't know what it is yet.''
