  • Gary Barlow to go on UK tour

Gary Barlow is to go on a solo tour of the UK and Ireland.

The Take That singer - who has previously released solo material in the late 90s following the demise of the band - will perform a number of gigs in addition to his work as a mentor on the UK's 'X Factor'.

He will play a total of 16 shows starting in Bournemouth on November 13 and ending in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on January 8.

Gary - who performed two solo shows in London last year - said: ''I'm really excited about these dates. Playing live is my favourite thing and I haven't played a solo show for over a year now. Last year playing two London shows was brilliant, we all had such a good time, so I thought right let's get out and see the rest of the country!''

Tickets for the tour will go on sale from 10am on Friday (19.10.12).

Gary releases his first solo single 'Forever Love' in July 1996 and his debut album 'Open Road' went to number 1 in the UK, selling two million copies worldwide.

However, his second album 'Twelve Months, Eleven Days' did not do as well, peaking at number 34.

He has since released work as a solo artist, most recently celebrating the 60th anniversary of Queen Elizabeth's ascent to the throne with the song 'Sing'.
