    A.J. McLean pulled over by police

    A.J. McLean was pulled over by police in Los Angeles on Tuesday morning (02.10.12).

    The Backstreet Boys star was stopped by a member of the Los Angeles Police Department (L.A.P.D) in Hollywood at 1am after the officer noticed a problem with his licence plates and issued him a citation for not having the proper proof of insurance, according to TMZ.

    Eyewitnesses revealed the singer tried to use his celebrity to convince the cop to be lenient on him and when the officer mentioned he was a fan of New Kids on the Block, A.J. brought up the recent joint Backstreet Boys and NKOTB world tour.

    He told the police officer ''We actually just got off tour with them.''

    A.J. and his wife Rochelle Karidis are expecting their first child together and he has previously credited Rochelle for helping him get back on track following a struggle with alcohol addiction.

    He tweeted her last year: ''You are my whole world and I cannot wait to spend my life with you. Without you here, I am lost!''
