Irish actor Simon Delaney can't believe his luck after landing a role in a Hollywood Movie, Starbuck, which is already being touted as one of the biggest comedies to be released in America next year.
Simon will star opposite Hollywood A-Lister Vince Vaughn, as well as the beautiful star of "How I Met Your Mother", Cobie Smulders.
Studio Dreamworks are behind the big budget movie in which Vaughn plays a middle-aged man whose life is turned upside down after he learns that he has fathered 533 children through sperm donation, all of whom want to meet him.
Simon described his role in the comedy to The Irish Independent:
"(I'm) amazed because I'm playing Vince's brother, a New Yorker who works in the family meat-packing business. There's nothing Irish about any of it".
The actor from Lusk is still on cloud nine after hearing the news that he got the part, and can't believe his luck after landing the role simply because he was in the right place at the right time - shooting a new film 'Can A Song Save Your Life' in New York.
Although we are certain Delaney's obvious talent came into play, he describes how he got the part completely by accident:
"I had a few days off and just turned up to meet the casting agent. I was amazed when I got a call yesterday to say I had the role."
"I've come close to getting big roles before but finally I've landed something on a scale beyond my wildest dreams".
The 40-year-old will travel to the US to begin shooting the new film on October 8.
