TV3 is currently seeking submissions for a variety of slots for Autumn 2019 and Spring 2020.
We are looking for new Factual Documentary Series and Factual Entertainment Formats for the post-watershed, post-soaps slots. Specifically, we are seeking two series of six, hour-long episodes. These series should be topical, and tonally there should be light as well as shade.
We are open to AFP opportunities, and these proposals should be entertaining and feel-good.
For similar slots, we would also like to see submissions for observational series. We would like to commission two series, consisting of three or four parts each.
There is a huge opportunity for new topics, new talent and new formats in our on-going True Lives single documentary strand. With the success of ‘Mammy Guilt’, ‘Baby Hater’ and ‘My War on Drugs’ we are keen to tackle new subjects in the honest, entertaining and direct way that has become the style of the strand - confident people authoring films offering the public fresh perspectives on subjects arising from modern life, provoking conversations.
We can also test formats or access opportunities in a one-off programme with a view to evaluating the audience’s appetite for an idea. In all cases, the emphasis should be on compelling and gripping series, full of powerful and captivating stories reflecting the various issues, fads, trends and threats that emerge from modern life.
Finally, we are interested in ideas for one six part series of hour-long entertainment shows. This may be an existing format or a new idea. This could be a pillar property in the schedule, and should have family appeal.
Returnable “brand-defining” formats and series are of interest, focusing on original, noisy and topical ideas. They may be fronted by new or existing talent.
For all of the above opportunities, please bear in mind that TV3 represents informative, entertaining programming with broad appeal.
All applications should be submitted through the Commissioning Portal.
